The first season introduces to the audience the main four characters which are namely Lynette, Susan, Bree and Gabrielle. Their families are introduced along with their neighbor who lives on Wisteria Lane. The season starts with the mystical and unexpected suicide of Mary. The involvement of her husband and sons give rise to many questions during the season. Her husband is Paul young, while her son Zach is mystical too. Gabriel wants to prevent her husband from discovering that she is having an affair with the gardener. Wendy Mericle wrote some parts of this season. The second season revolves around the new neighbor Betty. She arrived in Wisteria Lane in night. Bree is trying to cope with being a widow and eventually ends up dating a man.
She is fighting her alcoholism. She is drifting away from her son. The relation is going extreme. She is unable to cope with it. Susan’s love life has become complicated after she realized that her ex-husband is engaged. Wendy Mericle wrote this season. The third season revolves around the mystery of a dead body found near the neighborhood. Tom is starting a pizzeria. Gabrielle took a divorce and it was intense. She falls in love again with a mayor. Mike goes to coma after being run out by a car. Susan has lost all of hopes of Mike’s recovery. This season was also written by Wendy. The fourth season was aired in September,2007. The mystery in this season revolves around Katherine and her family. They have returned to Wisteria Lane after 12 years. Lynetter gets cancer while Gabrielle is having an affair with her ex-husband throughout the whole season. Susan and mike are expecting a child. Bree is faking pregnancy. Because she wants to raise her daughter’s illegitimate child as her own. A gay couple moves to Wisteria Lane too. Wendy Mericle wrote some part of this season.
The fifth season aired in September of 2008. Five years have gone since the last season. There are flashbacks of the time that has passed in between. The mystery revolves around Edie’s husband. Dave is out for revenge from someone. The person lives in Wisteria lane. Susan has become a single mother. Carlos is blind and Gabrielle is struggling with it. She has been hit by a financial crises and she has two young daughters too. Bree has been focusing on her career too much which is ruining her family life. Edies dies in the end. Wendy wrote this season perfectly.
The sixth season of Desperate house was aired in September 2009. The mystery in this season is the new neighbor. Angie and her family moved to Wisteria Lane. Julie was strangled by an unknown person. There is a conflict between Gabrielle and her niece. Katheirne losses mike to Susan. Katherine focuses on her sexuality. Wendy Mericle wrote some episodes of the series.
The main mystery of 7th season revolves around Paul’s return to Wisteria Lane. He has a new wife now. Lynette’s friend joins the neighborhood and stir things up by creating a lot of mess during the season. Susan, along with her family left the Wisteria Lane. They were having financial problems. She starts earning money by unconventional ways. Wendy Mericle co-produced this season and wrote some part of it. She did her best job in this season. In the eighth and last season the mystery revolves around the death of Gabrielle’s stepfather. He was killed and all the desperate housewives want to save the murderer Carlos. Bree has a relation with a detective and becomes the victim of their suspicion. Susan is feeling guilty because of Alejandro case. She is dealing with a heavy stuff in this season. Wendy Mericle again did terrific job in this season.
After the 8th and the last season it was thought to end the Television series. After all 8 seasons are the best a television series can get. Now a days many series are not evening getting the pilot time on Television screen. Desperate Housewives became one the most successful television series. It helped many people in strengthening their foots in the industry. Wendy Mericle said she never even imagined that Desperate housewives would earn so much viewership. She always thought that if they could get even one season then that would be enough. But things turned out against her expectations and were far better. She moved to other plays and series after that. Working with different people and different productions. Then she eventually landed at Arrow which again helped her in gaining trust and money. She is best known for her these two television series. People say she is the best writer of desperate housewives and arrow.
